Dr. Bernhard H Weigl is one of the original founders of MicroPlumbers Microsciences LLC. He is an inventor on more than 30 patents and patent applications in microfluidics, and has published over 60 scientific papers on microfluidics, sensor design, and analytical instrumentation. He received an M.Sc and a Ph.D., both with distinction, in Analytical Chemistry from Karl-Franzens-University, Graz, Austria, where he also gathered post-doctoral experience as well as at the Optoelectronic Research Centre, University of Southampton, England.
Bernhard now leads the Diagnostics Development Group at the non-profit organization P.A.T.H. in Seattle and is an Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington, Seattle. As he travels around the world to address conferences, his luggage often includes a kiteboard.
